- Recognizing we support the whole family through advocacy services
so that individuals and families may grow and prosper.
- Sponsoring, supporting, or directly operating
educational and advocacy programs related to self-sufficiency.
- Providing resources and intensive referral to resources.
History and Services
Recognized in 1998 as a "FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER", by the Commission on Children & Families,
Oceanspray Family Center expanded services to the entire Newport community's youth and families.
- Oceanspray Family Center is a leader in positive youth development opportunities and out-of-school time programs.
- As a member of the Youth Development Coalition of Lincoln County (YDC) since May of 2004, Oceanspray has
maintained a high level of program quality seeking to identify the strengths of each child and build on those "assets".
- Programs are open six days a week for youth ages 3-11 in a child care setting.
- Older youth, ages 12-18, participate in specialized, tailored programs that meet the challenging needs of teens who seek academic improvement, higher learning opportunities or employment.
Community partnerships through the YDC further these opportunities.
